2022 Superhero Dinner

Cravey Real Estate Services, Inc. was an Alliance Sponsor of the Young Professionals of the Coastal Bend 2022 annual Superhero Dinner on October 20th. This year’s Superhero Dinner honoree was Brad “Aquaman” Lomax. Brad Lomax is the founder and CEO of Waterstreet Ltd.

The Young Professionals of the Coastal Bend (YP) is a 501(c) 6 organization dedicated to serving our community through leadership, education, volunteerism, and the recruitment and retention of young professionals in the Coastal Bend area.

Lynann Pinkham, broker associate at Cravey Real Estate Services, won the raffle for a trip to the oyster farm with Brad Lomax. They will pick an oyster and it will be named after Lynann at the Waterstreet Oyster Bar. The very first oyster farm in Texas is right here in the Coastal Bend, after a long legislative battle, founder of Water Street Restaurants, Brad Lomax, was able to create the Texas Oyster Ranch in Aransas County. In July, Lomax harvested his first bunch of oysters after starting the ranch two years ago. A couple thousand arrived at Water Street Oyster Bar where the Lomax family and State Rep. Todd Hunter tried the first few. It marked the very first sale of farmed raised oysters, since it became legal in Texas. The oyster farm not only benefits the restaurant but also helps the bay system by taking pressure off the wild product. All of the oyster shells are also recycled back into the bay. The Harte Research Institute is also helping on that front, taking the oyster shells and putting them back in the water to protect shorelines.
